Your dreams, your choices

App Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 14, 2026

Gratitude Lab LLC operates Dreamlimen. This policy describes the Dreamlimen mobile app and its connected account, journal, AI and voice services. Contact us at office@dreamlimen.com. Our public website has a separate website privacy and cookies notice.

Writing on your device

Your saved dreams, reflections and conversations are stored on your device. Unsaved drafts remain in app memory. Basic uses illustrations included with the app. You can use the local journal without connecting an AI service or creating an account.

Live dictation uses on-device English speech recognition. Its audio is not uploaded or saved. If the device cannot recognize speech locally, you can type; the app does not silently switch to cloud recognition. Microphone access is optional and starts when you choose a voice feature. Prerecorded preparation audio and local reminders do not send your dream to a provider.

Accounts and setup answers

If you create an account, we process your email address, account identifier, name if supplied, verification status and sign-in information. Email accounts use a password hash. Google and, where available, Apple sign-in provide basic identity information. Resend sends verification and password-reset emails. Sessions use secure credential storage on your device; the account service also processes session identifiers, IP addresses and client information to authenticate requests and prevent abuse.

Optional setup answers include a preferred name, gender, age range and how you found Dreamlimen. Your answers, deliberate skips and setup progress synchronize with your account after sign-in so another device can resume setup. You can skip optional questions. Setup sync is separate from journal backup.

Dreamlimen asks for an age range, not a date of birth. Core features are for ages 13 and older, with parent or guardian permission for ages 13–17. Hypnosis and Gestalt guided dreamwork are for adults aged 18 and older. The connected service keeps your age declaration, guardian-permission answer and timestamps, plus adult session consent where applicable, associated with your connected device or account. These are self-declarations, not verified identity documents.

Cloud journal backup

Cloud backup is on by default after sign-in. It uploads saved dreams, titles, reflections, role-labeled conversations and illustrations to your private Dreamlimen account on Railway. You can turn backup off in Settings → Account & backup. Unsaved drafts and audio recordings are excluded. If another cloud journal exists, you review which copy to keep before one replaces the other.

Cloud journals, illustrations and synced setup answers are encrypted in the database and sent over encrypted connections. Our server holds the key needed to restore them; this is not end-to-end encryption. Signing out or turning backup off leaves the last cloud copy in place. Use Delete cloud journal or Delete account to remove it.

Optional AI conversations and illustrations

Starting an AI conversation sends your current dream and relevant conversation text through Dreamlimen’s connected service to OpenRouter and the model provider handling the request. Submitted voice turns are sent through OpenRouter for transcription. The returned text and recent conversation inform the next reply. AI replies go to Inworld for speech and may contain details from your dream. Inworld provides the speaking voice, not the conversation model. Fixed prompt narration and voice previews send prepared text and a selected stock voice identifier, not your journal.

Premium asks for your choice before creating AI dream illustrations. If enabled, saving a dream sends its title, dream text and relevant written scene and reflection to Google Gemini, directly or through OpenRouter. Audio recordings and the conversation transcript are not part of the illustration request. The generated image is stored on your device and by our service for reliable retries and may be included in cloud backup. You can change the illustration choice in Settings.

Your writing and voice may contain sensitive information, including feelings, bodily sensations, health information or information about other people. Share only what you choose to have processed. AI outputs are imaginative aids to personal reflection and can be incorrect. Dreamlimen does not provide diagnosis, treatment or emergency care.

We do not train our own AI models on your journal. External AI and voice providers have their own retention and permitted-use practices. We do not promise zero provider retention or that all providers exclude every use for model improvement. Stopping a session cancels pending app work but cannot recall content a provider has already processed.

Reporting AI content

You can report an inappropriate AI reply or illustration from inside the app. A report sends the description you enter and, for a conversation report, the selected AI text you choose to include. You can edit or remove that text before sending. Reports do not automatically attach your journal, audio or image files.

We keep the report in private Dreamlimen service storage with a receipt, submission time, resolution status and a protected identifier linking it to the connected device or account. Our team uses reports to review content and improve safeguards. Reports are not forwarded to AI providers or used for advertising.

Reports are automatically removed after 90 days and are removed with linked account deletion. Recovery copies follow the separate backup schedule described below.

Running the service

Our services process connected device and account identifiers, access status, trial and plan records, image allowances, request timestamps and technical request information to provide features, synchronize data, enforce eligibility and usage limits, resolve errors and protect accounts. The app currently has no advertising, dedicated product-analytics or crash-reporting SDK and no in-app payment collection. Optional reminders are scheduled on your device without a remote push token.

If you contact us, we use the email address and information you supply to respond and handle your request. Please do not send passwords or unnecessary dream or health information. If you export your journal using the device’s sharing controls, the destination you select receives that copy.

We do not sell personal information or use journal content for targeted advertising. Service providers receive information needed for their functions: Railway for hosting and storage, Google and Apple for the sign-in methods you choose, Resend for account emails, OpenRouter and the relevant AI model providers for requested processing, and Inworld for generated speech. Their processing may take place outside your country. Provider policies include Railway, OpenRouter, Google, Inworld, Resend and Apple.

Retention and deletion

Local journal entries remain until you delete them or remove the relevant app data. Cloud account data and the current journal backup remain while your account and backup are retained. Generated images remain available for retries until deleted. Submitted recordings are not kept as a Dreamlimen audio archive. Temporary recording files are removed after processing or cancellation. Reply text and speech streams are held briefly in service memory for playback; audio streams normally expire after about two minutes and the app requests earlier deletion when finished.

Deleting your account removes account identity, sessions, synced setup answers and cloud journal data from the active account service. The connected app also requests removal of the account’s illustration copies, trial record and age confirmations from the Dreamlimen AI service. If you cannot complete deletion in the app, request it through our account and data deletion page so we can locate the associated service records.

Database recovery copies are separate from active account data and expire under the hosting backup schedule. They are not used to make deleted accounts available again. Operational, support or security records may be kept as reasonably necessary to complete requests, prevent abuse, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations. We explain any applicable retention exception when handling a deletion request. External providers may retain records under their policies; we request deletion of associated data from providers where applicable. Deletion does not remove copies you exported or local journals on other devices.

Your choices and privacy rights

In Settings you can export or delete the local journal, turn cloud backup off, delete the cloud journal, delete your account, change age eligibility and manage optional voice, illustrations and reminders. You can revoke microphone and notification permissions in your device settings.

Depending on the law where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, receive a copy of, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal information, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. Where a legal basis is required, we rely on providing requested services, consent where required, protecting and operating our service, and legal obligations. Contact office@dreamlimen.com to exercise a right or ask about provider processing and international safeguards. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us so we can investigate and remove the account and associated information. We update this policy when our practices change and provide further notice or seek consent where required.
